We recently underwent a pretty serious website overhaul, and one of our favorite new site features is a much-improved shopping cart, called an Event Cart. In this article, we'll explain how to create an Event Cart, how to switch between multiple Event Carts while shopping, and how to add custom delivery drop zones to an Event Cart. 

What's an Event Cart?

An Event Cart is just like a regular shopping cart, but it is tied to a specific event and comes with features specifically designed to help busy event professionals stay organized. Both trade and consumer accounts can use Event Carts, but you must be logged in to use this feature. lf you haven’t done so already, create an SDPR account.

 How to Create a New Event Cart

It’s busy season and you’re working on multiple events at the same time. You want to source and organize rentals for all of your events without placing an order just yet. The answer? Multiple Event Carts. Here's how to take advantage of this feature.

Step 1

You can access your Event Carts from any page on our website by clicking on the "ACTIVE EVENT CART" drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of every page (#1).

To create a new event cart, click "Create New Event Cart" (#2). 

Step 2

Next, you'll be taken to the "Create Event Cart" screen. Fill out your event info and name your cart. Once complete, click the "SAVE EVENT CART" button. 

Step 3

You can now add products to your new Event Cart. Click "START SHOPPING" to get started. All products will be added to your new Event Cart.

How to Add Products to Multiple Event Carts 

You're on a roll adding rentals to your Event Cart when suddenly you find a rental that is perfect for another event you're working on. Luckily, you can easily switch back and forth between Event Carts, allowing you to add products to more than one project at a time. Here's how:

Step 1

You can access your Event Carts from any page on our website by clicking on the "ACTIVE EVENT CART" drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of every page.

Step 2

Inside the drop-down menu, you'll see the "Active Event Cart" cart you're currently shopping in. Click on the down arrow to reveal a list of all of your active Event Carts.

Select which Event Cart you'd like to activate, and all products you add moving forward will go into that Event Cart. This allows you to add products to any of your active Event Carts, any time.

How to Add Drop Zones to Your Event Carts

You're working a big, multi-room event, and all of your rentals need to go to different places at the event site. To ensure that every rental gets delivered to the right place, you can add drop zones to instruct our delivery team on precisely where each rental should be delivered.

Step 1

In your Event Cart, enter a drop zone name and click the “add” button. If most of your rentals are going to the same drop zone, click “ADD + APPLY TO ALL PRODUCTS.” From there, you can manually change the other drop zones.

Step 2

For each item, use the drop-down menu to select which drop zone it belongs to.
